I put the same effort that made me successful in football into developing my ranches into some of the premier hunting ranches in the world. His hunts and hunting property have gained a very positive national reputation, especially for producing trophy class elk and deer. Shiras moose, buffalo and cougar hunts are also available. Jones's Utah ranch covers 20,000 acres, of which 5,000 acres are intensively managed to produce trophy elk. The altitude at the ranch ranges from 5,300 feet to just under 10,000 feet. This is a fertile basin at the northern end of the Ogden Valley which is walled with towering mountains through which the Broadmouth Canyon is carved. It is bisected by Broadmouth Creek, a pristine trout stream. This is where you can find Broadmouth Canyon Ranch, an operation devoted exclusively to pursuing elk, deer, and moose. The ranch is located near the town of Liberty in the beautiful Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains just one hour from the Salt Lake International Airport. Hunters at the Utah operation stay in a spacious, comfortable lodge where meals are always a much anticipated delight. Jones' Utah operation also offers spike camp hunts in the back country. These are adventure hunts complete with western wall tent accommodations and traditional Dutch oven cooking. Jones' other hunting operation is his Idaho Ranch which is located in the Blackfoot Mountains. Bordered by the Shoshone-Bannock Indian Reservation on the south and overlooking the beautiful Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains to the north, this 10,000 acre tract boasts of beautiful ponderosa pine and aspen terrain. Elevations hunted at these well timbered covered mountains range from 5,000 feet to 8,000 feet high.
